Divine Guidance…

A Warm Welcome Friend and Thanks for stopping to visit!

I hope the words here encourage and inspire you as you continue on your journey

seeking Jesus Christ – your friend and mine.

Also, I am prayerfully believing ALL  is well with you today –

and you are blessed with much love, laughter, joy and peace in your life.

I invite you right now to pause with me for a moment – close your eyes – breathe deep – focus your thoughts on God, His love and all His creation: the bright sun shinning, flowers blooming, beautiful green trees, the animals – to name a few.

Is your heart not cheered and lifted by these thoughts?  Surely your answer is YES and you’ll join me in giving God thanks and praise!

God faithfully provides for us as He promises in the Bible(His Word).

Friend, I’m led to speak to you about our relationship with God – not so much individually but as a “People” and how we are guided by Him through His only begotten son – Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit.

Thus, our scripture focus is from the book of Matthew – Chapter 1 verse 23 — and not from the book of Psalm as it is normally—

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

I believe these words give us the knowledge that because of God’s love for us AND by God’s power Jesus came to guide us himself and still does so today.  Not often as direct – as the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night – which was the case for the children of Israel – but more likely for us by hearing His still small voice within our hearts.

Scripture tells us that God led the children of Israel out of bondage from Egypt.  Everyone saw and followed the cloud and fiery pillar but soon – as unbelievable as it may sound – they found God’s direct presence too much and cried out for a mediator – someone to be in between them and God.

I point you to Exodus 20:19—  where they said to Moses—

“…but do not have God speak to us or we will die.”

God graciously answered their cry/plea and appointed Moses as their mediator – a prophet  – whose function/assignment/task was to hear God’s word and bring it to the people.

But then – a day came – when the children of Israel rejected even the prophet – in favor of a king.  Then there were numerous kings throughout the years but God patiently waited and continued preparing his people and in His timing – a new day dawned and Jesus Christ came.

By God’s power Jesus then quietly and with persistence showed the people what it meant to live their lives in response to the voice of God.

Jesus taught them that they, too, could hear the heaven-sent voice and most clearly when they were together.

If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19,20)

I praise and thank God for this blessing! It is simply wonderful to know that – we – are encouraged to gather together as a group in unity and the POWER of the Lord to pray and worship expecting to hear from and be guided by Him.

I close by saying – it is not so shocking to believe the above is possible for us today because I’m reminded of one example in the book of Acts – where the elders and apostles on the Council of Jerusalem resolved a tough issue and concluded in a spirit of  unity to hold to the gospel of Jesus Christ instead of cultural religion.

“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…” (Acts 15:28)

Note:  I invite you to  read Acts 15 entirely.

I believe with no doubt that God can and will infuse a spirit of unity when His people are gathered and the right path has been chosen – and further – that He can and will trouble us with restlessness when we have not heard correctly.

Let us bow our heads together in prayer —

God, thank you for YOU and all you do for us.  You are AWESOME! We need you, your love and your guidance every moment of every day that you bless us with.  Speak to us Father God – we are listening.  In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray and give thanks.

A Joyous Welcome To You My Friend!

Thank you for stopping by today.

I pray ALL is well across our whole world and particularly with you!

Also, it is my hope the words you find here are encouraging and inspiring as you continue on your path seeking Jesus – your friend and mine.

Our scripture focus for today begins in the book of Psalm 118:24—

“This is the day the Lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Friend, I rejoice in this day and ask you to please join with me in celebration of it.

Celebration is at the heart of the way of JESUS and it brings JOY into our lives and JOY makes us strong in the Lord.

It is said in scriptures that our Lord Jesus Christ entered the world as an angel cried

“I bring you good news of a great joy which will be to all people.”

(Luke 2:10).

And He left the world saying to the disciples –

these things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”

(John 15:11)

JOY my friend is part of the fruit of the Spirit (see Gal. 5:22) –

I read recently that JOY can be seen as a motor that keeps us going and that ancient Israel was commanded to gather together three times a year to celebrate the goodness of God.  These gatherings were said to have given strength and cohesion to the people of Israel.

I personally believe the same is true for us (God’s people) today and therefore know for certain there is a lesson for all of us to learn here.

And so, I’m led to share with you that in order to bring forth genuine joy/celebration – we must TRUST  in God with all our heart and be OBEDIENT  to His Word  in our daily lives.

Otherwise, the joy/celebration is hollow and artificial and leads some of us to live our lives in such a way that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have any kind of happiness in our home, but then we go to church and sing songs and pray “in the Spirit” hoping God will give us enough JOY to make it through the day.

FRIEND, Yes, God does sometimes give us the joy we’re hoping for even while He is working with and moulding us  PRAISE GOD – but remember JOY is not found in singing  particular songs, etc – JOY is found in obedience.  Obedience to God’s WORD!

God our loving Father wants to bring about a transformation in our lives through the power of Jesus Christ – so we may know and have genuine JOY/CELEBRATION!

FURTHER my friend, in the scriptures – the apostle Paul calls us to —

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and I say, Rejoice”

(Phil. 4:4).

He continues with —

“be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”

(Phil 4:6).

Now, you may be asking – okay, if I do this – then what will be the result?

Well, scripture says —

“and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”

(Phil. 4:7)

We must BELIEVE my friend!

We must have FAITH – with no doubt!

Mountain moving – mustard seed FAITH in God our Father!

Let us bow our heads together and pray:

“Father God – thank you for your love and your grace and mercy – thank you for EVERYTHING!  We need thee Father – without you we are absolutely nothing and lost, lost, lost.  We stand on your word that you will never leave us nor forsake us.

Thank you Lord

Bless your holy name
