Today’s Scripture Focus is: Psalm 42:1
“As a deer longs for a stream of cool water, so I long for you, O God.”
It is said that a deer’s need for water is never completely gone. Though it may drink and be satisfied for a while, soon enough its body will demand more.
You have similar requirements–though not just for physical sustenance such as food and water.
You need love, acceptance, and purpose. Most of all your soul must have God.
Often you may attempt to fill those needs with other things — relationships, wealth, activities, etc. — but they will never fulfill you. they only mask your true yearning and make you hungrier.
Deep inside, you long for God — and you can have as much of him as your heart can handle. So don’t go thirsty.
Drink Him in and satisfy your soul.
Let’s bow our heads together and pray:
God, I’ve been filling my soul with other things, but I realize now that I really only yearn for You. Please satisfy my hunger with Your presence.
Thank you Jesus!
